Kosher Kingdom Raises the Bar for Kosher in South Florida with Major Expansion

Aventura FL- Kosher Kingdom recently expanded again. That’s right, again - as the kosher supermarket seems to be expanding every few years.  Ever since Fred Einhorn moved to South Florida in 1952, Kosher Kingdom has been in a constant expansion mode, this time from roughly 8,000 square feet to over 12,000 square feet. Fred’s son Michael and grandchild Philip now run the thriving business which has every bit the look of some of the more successful kosher independent supermarket that now dot many large cities. Kosher Kingdom includes a full service catering department, a deli counter with a full slate of prepared foods, butcher shop, dairy section, produce, bakery, a fully stocked wine cellar and even “Pizza King.” The store has become a must stop for people from as far South as Kendall and South Miami to as far North as Boca Raton. It is a haven for “snowbirds” who visit the area from all over the world. For those who live too far or do their kosher shopping on-line, there is always Amazon Fresh, where the store’s products can be purchased. They can get fresh meats and poultry and groceries from Kosher Kingdom delivered by Amazon.

The Einhorn family prides itself in constantly upgrading the store. Says Philip: “Our Sushi Department is new; we have two full time Sushi chefs creating amazing rolls.” He is extremely proud of the upgraded wine department: “We went all out on this with custom wood and steel wine displays, our cold storage wine display for ready to drink whites, roses, and champagne. We have some vintages that can't be found anywhere.” To be sure, customers at Kosher Kingdom are likely to pay 10% more than shoppers in New York, but that is a reflection of the added transportation costs. The store has an eclectic group of customers, including non-Jews who appreciate the quality of the foods and the large Sephardic population that lives in Aventura. They offer items such as Kibbe, Lahma bajene, Moroccan cigars, Moroccan fish and mousaka. In addition to its extensive selection of kosher foods, Kosher Kingdom has a significant catering business, which he calls the “backbone” of the business.  With the constant growth of the business, there is every likelihood that the store will expand again.
