IF Passover represents nearly 35-40% of annual sales, Rosh Hashanah comes in at 20%-25%. Rosh Hashanah is also a time to launch new products, not only honey pastries, honeys, and sweet snacks, but it is also the season for tasting many new kosher wines.
Wine expert Gabriel Geller, Director of PR and Manager of Wine Education for Royal Wine Corp, says an excellent selection of notable and innovative kosher wines is coming to market in time for Rosh Hashana. The new wines will come from California like the Herzog Variations Be-leaf Cabernet Sauvignon. Israel, which has emerged as a world leader in quality kosher wines will showcase wines from Ephod, a new Israeli winery under the direction of veteran French winemaker David Suissa (Ebiatar, Keter, and Regesh), from Segal (Wild Fermentation Chardonnay and Wild Fermentation Cabernet Sauvignon), and from Tabor (Marselan, a hybrid of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache Noir). The leading Judean Hills family winery, Flam, introduces Camellia, named after the Flam family’s matriarch. From France, there will be the 2017 vintage kosher run of Château Guiraud, its celebrated 1st Grand Cru Sauternes. The Champagne wines of Drappier were victims of their own success, being out of stock for almost 15 months.
