Kosher Personalities to be Honored at Pre Kosherfest Dinner

New York – More than 100 kosher food personalities will gather on November 9th for the 5th Annual Kosherfeast, an event that takes place the night before Kosherfest that also honors key personalities in the world of kosher. More than 100 cookbook authors, chefs, foodies and brands will meet over a festive meal and honor several individuals who have made important contributions to the world of kosher. The 2015 dinner, a 10 course-tasting extravaganza will take place at T-Fusion Steakhouse in Brooklyn. The menu was planned by Shifra and Shlomo Klein, editors of Joy of Kosher Magazine. This year’s honorees include Elan Kornblum, founder of Great Kosher Restaurants Magazines and related media; Kim Kushner, bestselling cookbook author, media personality and popular cooking instructor; Naomi Nachman, personal chef, cooking instructor, and on-air and online personality; Doug Soclof, founder and CEO of Dougie’s Restaurants, and Kitchn Synch; Phyllis Koegel, (OU) professional focused on sharing the benefits of kosher certification with brands around the world; Herm Rowland, Chairman of the Board of the Jelly Belly Company. The dinner will also pay special tribute to the late Gil Marks, who passed away in 2014. Gil was a culinary historian, a self-taught cook, and an award-winning author. In Gil’s memory, an award will be presented to someone who emulates Gil’s legacy as a respected kosher focused culinary professional, a mentor and “mentsch.”
