Queens, NY…A Bar Mitzvah at a former terminal of one of America’s leading airlines. A dinner or event at JFK International Airport where participants from outside of New York can simply check in for the night. Kosher catering at a facility that already has a kosher kitchen. A European businessman in New York for a two-day business trip finds the new TWA Hotel at JFK most convenient. The close proximity to Queens gave him access to kosher food and synagogues. Jennifer Joly, Director of Event Sales at TWA, is no stranger to kosher. She previously worked at Terrace on the Park. Ryan Eddy of MCR, which developed the magnificent facility, is hoping to attract significant business from New York’s Jewish community, particularly focusing on the banquet facilities which can seat up to 550 people for dinners, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Sheva Brachos and more. The genius of the architecture is that the old terminal look was somehow retained (with the smartly dressed staff in old TWA uniforms) while having a high-tech modern appearance. The charming flight board of old with its constant “Ch Ch Ch” sound brings back many memories while check in and other functions are all super high-tech.
