Transitions: Moshe (Morris) Bertram Passes Away At 82

Lakewood, NJ…The kosher food industry recently mourned the passing of Moshe (Morris) Bertram at the age Of 82. Mr. Bertram was one of the founders of S. Bertram Foods, the largest kosher foodservice distributor in the country. His brother Bezalel who was his key partner in the business predeceased him in 2020 at the age of 70. The Bertram brothers inherited the business from their father Schija who founded a modest eggs and butter enterprise in the Washington Heights Market of New York City. Customers knew that they could count on Mr. Bertram for dependable deliveries, personal customer service, and the best prices. The business ultimately evolved into the  S. Bertram Foods, Inc. It has grown to become the premier purveyor to the food service industry, servicing facilities throughout the tri-state area and across the globe. Its state-of-the-art facility in Linden, NJ includes 100,000 square feet of the  food service products, including dairy, fresh produce, grocery items, frozen foods and canned goods, as well as a newly-added line of paper goods and janitorial supplies. Its  B'gan brand of various fresh and frozen vegetable products has gained wide acclaim, meeting the highest standards of both quality and kashrus.
