Summer Kosher Travel to Surpass Pre-Covid Levels

London…The summer kosher vacation market is booming, according to Raphi Bloom of www.TotallyJewishTravel.com.  More than 45 Summer vacation programs are advertising on his site encompassing multiple locations in Europe, Costa Rica, Iceland, Morocco, and South Africa. Kosher cruising is also back in a big way with 4 different companies offering kosher ocean and river cruises across Europe. Mr. Bloom, the co-founder of Totally Jewish Travel, said "2021 saw a resurgence of summer Kosher travel but the demand in 2022 has been off the charts, with hundreds of enquiries every day being made by travelers via our website to program operators",

He said that the record summer travel is a good omen for the coming Sukkot holiday. It is also promising to return to pre pandemic levels with 15 programs currently being offered across Europe, Mexico, Dubai, and Israel. For the first time in several years, Israel will be fully open to tourists. Israel is already experiencing a resurgence of its tourism business. Arkia Airlines announced the commencement of scheduled flights to and from Ramon Airport near Eilat.

Also fueling the kosher travel industry are the many new kosher options in several major destinations, particularly for people not traveling with an organized group. A new kosher option is available in the seaside resort of S. Marinella, northwest of Rome. Now, for the first time, they’re able to buy kosher meats, breads, cheeses, wines, and even fully prepared meals at a local supermarket just a stone’s throw away from the beach. And, of course, there are several varieties of authentic and kosher Italian pizza to choose from. In Barcelona, with a little advance notice, Xerta will prepare kosher meals in a separate kitchen, under the supervision of a local Chabad-Lubavitch rabbi. This makes Xerta the only Michelin-starred kosher restaurant in the world. The Kerestir Guesthouse offers kosher meals out of its kitchens in Kerestir, Hungary and Munkacz.
