Monsey NY…by Batsheva Berger…It was the night before Kosherfest (November 8th) for an overflow crowd of media people who gathered for the 7th Annual Jewish Food Media Conference. The gathering which took place in the RendezVous dairy restaurant in Monsey, was in partnership with Masbia which operates several soup kitchens for the poor. Funds were raised to help Masbia by promoting Simply Gourmet, a new cookbook by Rivky Kleiman. The program included a welcome by well-known kosher food and radio personality Naomi Nachman.
Melinda Strauss @therealmelindastrauss (on Instagram) provided tips on how to use Tik-Tok and why it is such an important platform. She chaired a panel that consisted of Donny Klein @yeahthatskosher, Miriam Pascal-Cohen @overtimecook and Alyssa Goldwater @alyssagoldwater. Then came the food or sushi galore from the chef. The menu included Individual chia pudding - 4 oz glass mason jar, Zaatar pita chips with house made Matbucha, Grilled halloumi cheese salad as well as other salads, tomato olive rosemary focaccia, Jalapeño garlic confit focaccia, Nacho tower, Arancini rice ball, wild mushroom gnocchi, and Omakase Sushi. An elaborate dessert offering capped what was an evening to remember. Already there was the “how do you top this next year?” as everyone prepared for Kosherfest taking place the next day in Secaucus.
