Vitamin Companies Look to Expand Kosher Offerings

NEW YORK -- There was a time when the only kosher certified vitamins were those produced by such well known kosher companies as Freeda or more recently Maxihealth, but increasingly mainstream vitamin producers are looking to add kosher certification.

Recently, Rich Vitamins, makers of alternaVites and alternaVites Kids, has received kosher certification for its multivitamin and mineral products from the Orthodox Union. “The Company’s goal has always been to make sure all of our products are held to the highest standards, and with OU certification, our consumers now have further reassurance of how seriously we take product potency, purity, and quality, including our manufacturing and packaging processes,” said Company President and Founder Hallie Rich.
