Special Events at Kosherfest Mirror Developments of Industry

Secaucus, NJ…by Staff Reporters… While much of the focus at next month’s Kosherfest will be on the exhibits and the hundreds of new kosher products on display, the special events at the 23rd annual Kosher Food Trade Show (November 8-9, Meadowlands Exposition Center) will mirror many of the latest developments in the industry. In his annual state of the industry address prior to the official opening of the show, Menachem Lubinsky, the founder and co-producer of Kosherfest, is expected to focus on the new broad and diverse product line and how they define a “new age” kosher consumer. Some of these new products and ingredients will be recognized as part of the show’s highly touted New Product Showcase and even at a culinary demonstration by noted chef Carl Raymond. The role of social media in an ever growing foodie network will be the focus of a major session that will include a panel of noted cookbook authors who will be quizzed by a group of bloggers, headed by Esti Berkowitz. The cookbook authors include Jeffrey Nathan, Gil Marks, Susie Fishbein, Jamie Geller and Levana Kirschenbaum. Other noted cookbook authors participating at a special book-signing hour will include June Hersh, Norene Gilletz, and Leah Schapira, who will serve as moderator of the panel discussion.

In addition to its sizeable pavilion, Canadian rabbinic leaders will shed light on our Northern neighbor’s significant emphasis on kosher as part of a panel discussion on Tuesday afternoon. As a follow-up to the successful Webinar on the Mainstreaming of Kosher, Milt Weinstock, President of Kosher Media Network, will walk participants through the process of taking a kosher product mainstream. Another key educational session on Tuesday will be “Leveraging Technology To Empower Your Mobile Sales Force In The Food & Beverage Industry,” led by Jory Weissman, Vice President, Mibar.net.
