Monsey…Rabbi Yaakov Lipschutz, considered by many as one of the world’s foremost authorities on Kashrus, passed away last week at the age of 87. A noted scholar, Rabbi Lipschutz served as the rabbi of Khal Bais Yosef for many years. He is the author of Kashruth, a brilliant compendium on all issues related to kashrus, published by ArtScroll/Mesorah Publications. He was one of the pioneers of kashrus in America, heading the OU Kashrus Division for many years and later leading National Kathruth, an organization he founded.
