Passaic Latest Jewish Community to Get Kosher Supermarket

Passaic, NJ…According to North Jersey, Com, a new mall catering to the large Orthodox community here will include the Aisle One kosher supermarket. Called Brook Haven, "this will be the largest kosher shopping experience in the region," said Mark Raider, Brook Haven's CEO, adding that the owners hope to attract shoppers from the surrounding neighborhoods as well as throughout northern New Jersey. The mall will also include a kosher liquor store, Judaica bookstore, and rooftop kosher dining. Passaic has over 20 synagogues and an Orthodox Jewish population of 15,000, one of the largest Orthodox Jewish communities in New Jersey. It has become a favorite for many young families because of its infrastructure of Jewish life and proximity to major Jewish communities in New York and New Jersey. Passaic is the latest in a string of communities that are adding large kosher supermarkets to serve these emerging kosher enclaves. New kosher supermarkets are also slated for Cleveland, Ohio and Pomona, NY amongst several other planned stores throughout the country.
