Osem USA Takes Major Step Forward: Retains Ron Wise

Englewood Cliffs, NJ… Osem USA has taken a major step to continue its dramatic growth from an importer of a limited number of items bearing the Osem brand to a leading importer and distributor of Israeli foods. It recently announced that Ron Wise, a well-known executive with DPI Specialty Foods, a leading distributor of specialty foods, including kosher, will join the company in a leading sales role. Wise served as National Kosher Food Marketing Director at DPI. Izzet Ozdigan, the founding president of Osem USA said: “Ronnie, whom I know for the last 20 years, in addition to having a solid personality, knows the kosher market, its players, products, personalities and the intricate competition between the national kosher food suppliers intimately.” Osem USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Osem-Nestlé Israel, is the leading importer of kosher food products from Israel. Osem was founded in 1942 in Israel, before the establishment of the State in 1948. It is the leading food company in Israel. The move by Osem was widely applauded by many leading officials in the kosher food industry. Osem USA in the past decade has emerged as one of the top US kosher food purveyors. It has been particularly creative in introducing many new products and has even become a major competitor to US Matzoh manufacturers during Passover. Osem USA sells 2 million tons of matzah annually to American consumers, more than any other Israeli company. It also received wide recognition for its program of contributing $2 for every box sold to the JNF to plant trees in Israel (up to $400,000 a year). Since beginning the program in 2006 - with Osem reaching the ceiling every year - it has donated more than $2,000,000 to the JNF, resulting in the planting of an estimated 400,000 trees in Israel.
