PORTLAND, ME -- A record number of new products to be displayed at next month’s Kosherfest will be judged this week at the annual New Product Competition on October 18th 2012. To be eligible, the product should have been introduced within the last 14 months and be available for sale by the time Kosherfest takes place, with the notable exception of products produced for Passover.
The categories to be judged include beverages, Meats, Seafood or Poultry, Frozen Entrees (Pizza, TV Dinners, etc.), Cheese or Dairy, Deli Meats, Pastas, Rice, Beans or Soups, Breads, Grains, Cereals and Crackers, Jams and Preserves, Dips, Spreads and Salsa, Savory & Salty Snack Foods, Savory Condiments, Spices, Sauces, Oils, Vinegars, Dressings and Marinades, Desserts, Baked Goods, and Sweet Snacks, Giftware & Novelties, Candy, and Kosher for Passover.
Judging will take place at the Jewish Community Center on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, with four top kosher buyers acting as this year’s judges.
