New Kosherfest Exhibitor Seeks Foodservice Clients at Show

SECAUCUS, NJ — Lest you think that every exhibitor at the upcoming Kosherfest (November 11-12, Meadowlands Exposition Center) is looking for retailers think again. A number of new exhibitors are actually looking for foodservice buyers. One such exhibitor is CNS, an importer, processor and national distributor of sweetened, toasted and desiccated coconut as well as other sweet, dry baking ingredients. CNS is a family owned entity founded in 1995 by three generations of entrepreneurial women: Eva Deutsch, Chief of Production and Purchasing, Irene Fishman, Chief of Finance, and Miriam Gross, Vice President of Sales. CNS is still run by three women, founder Deutsch, Miriam Gross-Ehrlich, and Carol Ranieri, head of Accounting. Their mission is to provide wholesale bakeries, food service distributors and ice cream manufacturers with a broad array of top quality products in bulk packaging of 10-lb, 25-lb and 1-lb cases at competitive prices.

CNS is HACCP certified and is audited yearly by a 3rd party Food Safety Auditor.  They ship nationwide by common carrier. They also do private labeling. To keep up with the health conscious public all of their products are Trans Fat Free. Additionally, all their products are certified kosher. CNS Confectionery's coconut comes from tropical palm trees in the warmth of the Philippine Islands.  Sweetened shredded coconut adds a unique flavor and texture to many menu items and the sweetened shredded coconut can be used as a topping for salads and desserts or as an ingredient for baked goods.

They also distribute sprinkles and fresh crunchy granola. Ms. Gross said the reason they decided to join Kosherfest this year was “to network with other exhibitors who may use our product.  We do not sell a retail product so I don't think the attendees are our target audience... But you never know.”
