New Kosher Option in Silver Spring Opens to Rave Review

SILVER SPRING — Many an Orthodox professional living in this “suburb” of Washington DC, where many of the Jewish residents work, recall the days when the closest option for kosher was in Baltimore and when some even made a weekly trip all the way to New York for quality meats and bakery items. Now in its fourth month, Shalom’s has dramatically changed the kosher landscape in the area.

Shalom's is owned and operated by the Dekelbaums for the last 39 years. Since 1973 The Shalom Group  includes Max's, a kosher restaurant located next door to the old Shalom's at 2319 University Blvd, in Wheaton and Signature Catering, a full kosher catering for small to large parties. The new Shalom's location includes 25,000 square feet of everything kosher. Featured at Shalom’s is a full line of products from every day groceries to specialty lines, a large selection of kosher wines, fine cut meats, bakery, a beautiful fresh produce selection and an exquisite prepared foods. Within the shopping center of Shalom's new home is a kosher candy store, pizza shop, and bakery/restaurant creating the ultimate  kosher shopping and dining destination in Silver Spring for locals and visitors alike.
