New Foodservice Provider to Respect Jewish Heritage at Brandeis

WALTHAM MA — When Brandeis University switched its foodservice provider from Aramark to Sodexo, students who eat kosher cheered. It seems that Sodexo decided to expand the kosher options out of respect for the Brandeis heritage. For example, the Dunkin’ Donuts serves fully certified kosher products such as coffee, bagels and donuts, and the recently opened Louis’ Kosher Deli is the first entirely kosher option on Upper Campus.

According to Jay DeGioia, the regional district manager of Sodexo on campus, “It has been a long standing policy, and that during the bidding process it was clear, that not allowing pork or shellfish to be served in the dining halls would be part of the new contract.”
