New York…by Staff Reporters…A new effort to promote the sales of Israeli products in the US was recently launched by an ambitious group, headed by Frances Zelazny. It is planning a “Buy Israel Week,” for November 28-December 4, 2011. The event is an integrated print and online marketing campaign organized by jdeal.com, the major Jewish media across the U.S. (including such publications as The Jewish Week, Washington Jewish Week, Florida Jewish Journal, Tribe Media Corporation, the Jewish Standard of New Jersey, the Chicago Jewish News, Texas Jewish Post, J. the Jewish News Weekly of Northern California and Jewish News of Greater Phoenix). The event has the support of the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturers’ Association of Israel, and the Israel Export Institute. During the week, the buyisraelweek.com website will convert into an online marketplace where consumers will be able to download an array of coupons from Israeli manufacturers to be redeemed at various establishments across the US. Local merchants selling Israeli goods will also be featuring special discount offers. The newspapers will be issuing a special print supplement, and various events taking place around the same time across the country will also highlight Buy Israel Week.
