7-Eleven to Expand Kosher Program in US

Dallas, TX - To many children who keep kosher, 7-Eleven is a store that sells kosher Slurpees. In some areas, the stores sell much more than the Slurpees. They may have a kosher grill or even some kosher sandwiches. Now, according to Erik Gross of Fresko, many of the 900 franchised stores in the Northeast will have the option to sell their kosher fare, similar to the foods Fresko sells in many airports and at Citifield, home of the New York Mets. 7‑Eleven views itself as a local community store and thus responding to local needs fits well within the company model. With 9,200 stores, 7-Eleven is the premier name and largest chain in the convenience retailing industry. It franchises its stores in the U.S. and is expanding through organic growth, acquisitions and its Business Conversion Program.
