Miami Kosher Food Establishments Hope it is the Season, Not Zyka

Miami Beach - It was after Labor Day, a usually quiet period for the kosher restaurants along Harding Avenue. The tourists had for the most part left and were not expected back until the upcoming Jewish holidays which was still almost a month away. Most of the diners were locals and they pretty much had a choice of tables. Although this was supposed to be the norm in September, there were whispers of concern that Zyka should not cut into the upcoming holidays and beyond. Even in the midst of the norm, one could sense that there were definitely less women of childbearing age. It was after all a day when Miami Beach was to be sprayed. But community leaders and even owners of kosher food establishments felt that perhaps the worst was over, hoping that the upcoming season would be “normal” as well.
