Many New Kosher Foods and Wines Coming to Kosher and Kosherfest, Fancy Food Show Preview Shows

New York - There were some 400 exhibits with kosher certification at the just concluded Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center (June 28-30). It again demonstrated just how dominant kosher has become in the specialty foods category. But according to kosher food blogger Chaim Szmidt of the Kosher Scene, there were many new and interesting items that will no doubt be part of Kosherfest (November 10-11, Meadowlands Exposition Center) in about four months. He noticed interesting Cholov Yisroel cheeses from Uruguay under the certification of Chabad of Montevideo, a Dolce de Lecce   Cholov Yisroel cream that is eaten as a spread. There was also Mozzarella – Danish Danbo, a sandwich type smooth creamy interior that has a buttery flavor. To go with the cheese was Kopper’s Chocolate first round cordials and from Pereq quinoa flour – non gluten. It has all the properties of gluten flour but is not. There was an array of coffees and many non-Cholov Yisrael innovative items.

They will be part of the 300 new items which will be showcased at Kosherfest this coming November. New products have become the lifeline of kosher food manufacturers and retailers who measure success by the number of new products that are introduced each year, particularly in high usage periods such as Rosh Hashanah and Passover. The Kedem Group is once again introducing more than a dozen new wines, each more interesting than the next. On the food side, there will be as many as 50 new items on shelves come Rosh Hashanah, according to one kosher food distributor.
