Major Educational Seminars to be Featured at Kosherfest ‘18

Secaucus NJ…Kosherfest 2018 will celebrate its 30th Anniversary this November with an array of special events that will also recognize kosher food purveyors who have been at Kosherfest since its founding in 1989. To take place on November 13-14 at the Meadowlands Convention Center, the show will feature a number of extremely important educational seminars, beginning with the keynote address on the State of the Kosher Food Industry by Menachem Lubinsky. This will be followed by a presentation by Yarden Horwitz, formerly of Google on trends in kosher and on digital marketing by Matt Pereira of Google.  Another major session will be on Foodservice by such veterans as Tim Brown, a former Vice President at Sysco, Bob Sulik, Senior Manager at Sodexo NA, and Jerry Bertram of S. Bertram, the leading foodservice distributor in the kosher food market.

A very timely session will be on “Using Technology to Upgrade Kashrus Supervision: New Challenges and New Opportunities.”  To be chaired by Rabbi Sholem Fishbane, Kashrus Administrator of the Chicago Rabbinical Council (cRc) and Executive Director of Association of Kashrus Organizations (AKO), it will include such experts as Rabbi Shimon Adler – Special Projects Coordinator at the Vaad of Five Towns and Rabbi Akiva Niehaus – Rabbinic Coordinator at the CRC. Yet another impressive session will be on trends in kosher, chaired by Elan Kornblum, leading kosher restaurant expert. The panel will include award-winning chefs, Jeff Nathan, Executive Chef and co-owner of Abigael’s on Broadway, and well known for his television series, New Jewish Cuisine, which was seen on public television stations nationwide, Israel and several other countries, Mike Gershkovich of Mike’s Bistro and Allison Kahn from T Fusion.
