KosherfestÕs Focus on Healthier Foods Lures Blender Manufacturer to Show

Wendy Manfredi, Marketing Manager of Advertising and Public Relations at Vita-Mix, says the reason the company decided to join the world’s largest kosher-certified products trade show is because of its focus on healthy natural foods. Manfredi says that they hope their products will help “liberate the world from conventional food.”

There has been a definite shift towards healthier products at recent editions of Kosherfest and that change has not been lost on manufacturers of food products and related products. They may have noticed the sharp uptick in gluten-free, organic and sugar-free products at the show. It even caught the attention of the Vita-Mix Corporation, which will be amongst some 50 new exhibitors at this year’s Kosherfest, which will take place October 29-30 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, Secaucus, NJ.

Vita-Mix is a 93-year-old family-owned and operated company based here that prides itself in marketing products “that improved people’s lives.” Vita-Mix began selling blenders in the 1930s, and the founder made it his mission to create a blender that could process whole foods into healthy meals.  In 1949, the very first infomercial on record was founder William G. “Papa” Barnard’s demonstration of making whole food meals in a Vita-Mix blender.  Today the company builds blenders in Cleveland that ship to over 100 countries worldwide.
