Secaucus, NJ…With Israel leading the way, this year’s 23rd annual Kosherfest, which takes place November 8-9 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, will take on a decidedly more international flavor. Canada, Argentina, and the Philippines will join Israel with national pavilions, even as Israel remains the largest international exhibitor. The growing international presence reflects the dramatic increase of companies, particularly in Europe, who are producing kosher products. The producers are anxious to market their products in the US, are conscious of the rise in popularity of kosher in Europe, and are even eyeing the $17 billion kosher food market in Israel.
In addition to the expansion of the international exhibits, Kosherfest will have a full slate of special educational programs and events. The show opens on Tuesday with a keynote address from Kosherfest founder and co-producer Menachem Lubinsky. Following the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, winners of the New Product Showcase will receive their awards, there will be a session on Kosher 2012: The New Demands of an Ever-changing Kosher Palate, The panel includes a group of award-winning kosher cookbook authors moderated by Leah Schapira , a recipe developer and food writer (www.cookkosher.com). The session will include bloggers and other social media people who will pose questions to the cookbook panel. The days’s events end with a presentation by Milt Weinstock on the Mainstreaming of Kosher, a continuation of his successful Webinar presentation last week. More than 350 exhibitors from around the globe will be on hand, with hundreds of new products.
