Secaucus NJ - The popular annual kosher food competition at Kosherfest is getting a major facelift at this year’s event (November 15-16), perhaps a reflection of the ongoing upscaling of kosher. This year’s kosher kitchen at Kosherfest is called “Jamie Geller’s Joy of Kosher Kitchen” with new product tastings and chef demonstrations. The competition itself has been renamed Kosher Masters with a nationwide search for the next best chef (18 and older), culminating at Kosherfest. The deadline to apply to be a chef in the Kosher Masters is September 18th.
This year’s culinary events at Kosherfest are sponsored by Kosher Media Holdings (KMH), a major network for engaging and selling to the multi-billion global kosher marketplace. Its first ever "Jamie Geller's Kosher Masters” culinary competition is designed to discover aspiring chefs. Contestants are required to incorporate the flavors of Rosh Hashanah into a signature dish. They can enter the competition by submitting short video recipes or through social media using #JGKosherMasters. Home cooks without formal chef training will be eligible to win free travel and accommodations to the final competition cook-off, sponsored by Grow and Behold Foods on November 16th at Kosherfest. Winners of Jamie Geller's Kosher Masters will receive one of the following prizes: one $500 American Express gift card, one $100 gift card for Grow and Behold Foods, producers of OU Glatt Kosher pastured meats raised on small family-run farms, feature article in both the award-winning Jamie Geller’s JOY of KOSHER magazine and JOYofKOSHER.com, a leading kosher food and recipe website, one-year subscription to JOY of KOSHER with Jamie Geller magazine or one JOY of KOSHER cookbookHome cooks without formal chef training and over the age of 18 living in the continental U.S. or Canada are eligible to enter.
