PORTLAND, ME — The 2013 edition of Kosherfest which will take place on October 29-30 will mark the 25th Anniversary of the kosher food trade show since it was first started in 1989 with just 69 booths and just over 700 visitors. In 2012, the show featured more than 370 booths and over 7,000 visitors.
To mark the occasion, this year’s show will feature many special events, particularly recognizing many of the exhibitors who have either been in all or most of the shows,” said Bill Springer, Vice President of Diversified Business Communications, which co-produces the show with Lubicom Marketing, headed by Kosherfest’s founder Menachem Lubinsky.
“This celebration is not about the growth of a trade show, but the dramatic story of the growth and development of an industry,” said Mr. Lubinsky. He recalled that when he first documented the number of kosher products back in the ‘80’s, “it was somewhere in the area of 20,000.” Today that number is more than ten-fold, he added. With a good deal of the floor already sold out for the 2013 show, this year’s show is once again expected to draw booths and visitors from around the world.
