Kosher Foodies Lead Kosher into a New Generation of Growth; Attendance at KFWE Shows

New York…The kosher food industry is benefiting from an unprecedented movement of young kosher foodies, say food experts. A good barometer of this trend is the overflow attendance at the Kosher Food & Wine Experience events, most recently in New York and California. Over 2,500 kosher foodies, wine enthusiasts and kosher industry experts braved the cold weather on February 5th, for Royal Wine’s 12th Annual Kosher Food & Wine Experience (KFWE) at Chelsea Piers, Manhattan. The New York show is the largest of all the Royal events in many major cities throughout the world featuring hundreds of wines from over 60 wineries representing nearly every wine producing region around the world. And what’s wine without food? Over 35,000 plates of mouthwatering modern bites were served up by some of New York City’s best eateries to the enthusiastic attendees -- from Lamb Bacon, Buffalo Meatballs, and spicy Hawaiian poke to Lotus Doughnuts, Bacon-Flavored Brittle, and pulled beef with veal truffle pate. Not only are all of these delicacies kosher, but many are kosher for Passover.

The experts say that the foodies are responsible for the appreciable growth of the kosher independent supermarkets, a plethora of new cookbooks, and the success of food supplements by Jewish newspapers and magazines.
