Kosher Community from Around the World Gather for Kosherfest 2011

Hundreds of food officials from 19 countries and more than 25 states began arriving here today for the 23rd Kosherfest, which opens tomorrow for two days at the Meadowlands Exposition Center. This year’s kosher food trade show will feature a plethora of new products, many of which will receive awards for being named the best in their category at the show. Tishbi Passion Fruit and Strawberry Champagne Preserve was selected as the best new product at Kosherfest. Just prior to the formal opening of the show, Menachem Lubinsky, Kosherfest Founder and President & CEO of LUBICOM Marketing Consulting, will deliver his keynote address on “The Kosher Food Industry in 2012 - On a Superhighway to New Vistas.” A record 8,000 trade buyers and exhibitors are expected to visit the world’s only major showcase of kosher foods. In an unprecedented event later on Tuesday morning a panel of award-winning kosher cookbook authors will respond to questions from social media authors. Moderated by Leah Schapira , a recipe developer and food writer, the session will focus on “Kosher 2012: The New Demands of an Ever-changing Kosher Palate.” Another key session that day will be a presentation on "Mainstreaming Kosher: Taking Ethnic/ Specialty Foods to the Masses and Growing Beyond your Specialty Niche” by Milt Weinstock, President, Kosher Media Network and Mr. Lubinsky, Kosherfest Founder. Yet another educational seminar will be on Leveraging Technology To Empower Your Mobile Sales Force In The Food & Beverage Industry by: Jory Weissman, Vice President, Mibar.net.
Canada, Israel and Argentina will highlight the growing international presence of exhibitors and visitors at Kosherfest. Canadian rabbis will discuss the growing number of Canadian products that have gone kosher of late in a session on Tuesday afternoon. Israel’s huge pavilion will feature many new exhibitors. Israel’s Chief Rabbi Yonah Metzger will visit the show as will Israel’s New Economic Minister to North America, Nili Shalev. On Wednesday, the second day of the show, there will be a culinary competition by top respected kosher industry chefs who will compete in a session coordinated by The Center for Kosher Culinary Arts.
