Austin, TX…When an international agency that trains labor forces on such issues as safety sought to expand its training to kashrus, it naturally reached out to the Orthodox Union (OU). Apparently, the Alchemy Group had shopped its quest for kashrus knowledge around including Yeshiva Pirchei Shoshanim. When YPS was not chosen by the Alchemy Group, it sought to bring the OU before a Bais Din (rabbinical court). According to knowledgeable sources during the entire ongoing involvement between Alchemy and the OU, the OU was never privy nor in any way used any materials prepared by YPS. Despite the fact that competent rabbis ruled that this was really a matter between YPS and Alchemy, they continued to insist the OU appear before a rabbinical court.
