The fun, ‘hands-on’ instructional video platform, which has garnered more than 350 million views to date, brings to life simple, speedy, no-fuss, mouthwatering recipes for Jewish comfort food from around the world. The acquisition further expands the brand’s ability to inspire a passion for kosher cooking through its network of content platforms including a website, social media, cookbooks and international events. “We’re excited to add this engaging social video experience to the mix,” said Jamie Geller, founder of the global media brand. Kosher consumer engagement with online food content from websites and communities like Jamie Geller’s, which has more than 1.5 million followers across multiple platforms,Israeli and Jewish food searches have seen a surge in popularity of late, with a diverse audience ranging in age, race, and ethnicity, showing that kosher is not a niche category anymore. Interest in Middle-Eastern recipes is notably coming from more Western countries. While the U.S. tops the list, a strong following appeared in the UK, Canada and Australia as well. Compared to last year, Israeli food searches have spiked by more than 110%. Traditional Jewish comfort food increased by 130%. Recipes like challah, chicken soup, and hummus are the most popular Google search terms, while middle-eastern favorites like babaganush and the trendy shakshuka have seen a rise in searches greater than 100%.
