Israel Makes the Case for its National Nouvelle Cuisine

Secaucus NJ - ”Israeli cuisine is emerging as a new participant in the kosher kitchen,” was the message at a special breakfast sponsored by the Israel Export Institute on the opening day of Kosherfest on Tuesday November 15th. The IEI, which sponsored the largest international pavilion with some 20 booths, highlighted the creativity and innovation of Israel’s food industry. Israel’s Consul General to New York, Ambassador Dani Dayan and Minister Inon Elroy, Israel’s Trade Commissioner to New York participated in the event that also included a presentation by film producer Roger Sherman. Mr. Sherman produced a new film “In Search of Israeli Cuisine” which emphasizes the fact that despite being a nation of immigrants, Israel most definitely has a very distinct cuisine.
