Importer of Israeli Products Looking for ÒBreakoutÓ Participation at Kosherfest

SECAUCUS, NJ — The list of companies that have capitalized on Kosherfest to launch a brand or line of products is extremely long. Mediterranean Majestic Foods (MMF) is hoping to join that list when it becomes one of 50 new exhibitors to participate in the 25th Anniversary show, which will take place October 29-30 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center. Run by partners Ram Blottman and Andrea Nussnbaum, MMF imports gourmet products from Israel. They currently carry 4 lines, each offering a unique twist to a traditional food. After attending as guests for a few years, MMF will be exhibiting at Kosherfest 25 for the first time.

“One of the products we are most excited to exhibit is our line of whole grain pita bread,” says Andrea. “The pita is stone baked, with no added sugar and 40% fewer calories than regular pitas.” The pitas have a unique twist in that they are stored and sold frozen, which keeps them fresh for 18 months, tasting just-baked as soon as they are heated. The line also includes a “sub-pita,” the perfect size for hot dogs or sub sandwiches. MMF will also be exhibiting their lines of artisan olive oil (made on a kibbutz), tahini, and Pecrunchy, their glazed pecans. Unlike most glazed pecans, they are coated in a special process that doesn’t leave them burnt or sticky. Pecrunchy comes in various sizes, from full to crumbs.

“Joining Kosherfest 25 is an exciting step for us,” says Andrea. “We’ve been selling in Israel and Europe for years, but our presence in the US is brand new. Our goal in exhibiting is to introduce our products to retail and food service companies and forge new connections to assist our expansion.”
