Food Shows Plan Fall Return but Kosherfest May be Only Option for Kosher in 2021

New York…Some of the major food shows are planning to host their annual shows in the Fall, according to a survey by Kosher Today. Kosherfest is planning to host its 32nd annual show at its usual time of year, November 9-10, 2021 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center as the industry will be planning for Chanukah 2021 and Passover 2022. The Specialty Food Association (SFA) announced that its Summer Fancy Food Show will be held September 27-29, 2021 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. However, the dates coincide with the Jewish holidays of Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah and likely to preclude most kosher companies and buyers from attending. The statement by the Specialty Food Association read in part: “After consulting with SFA members and Fancy Food Show buyers through a recent survey, New York City and State officials, the Javits Center and health experts to gauge the safety and viability of moving forward with a live event in June, we have determined that a late third-quarter Fancy Food Show has the best chance of success, providing a safe environment for all of our Fancy Food Show attendees and participating members.”

Another show of interest to kosher that has often coincided with Kosherfest is the PLMA Private Label Trade Show in Chicago, which this year will take place after Kosherfest, November 14 - 16, 2021. Thus, officials of Diversified Business Communications and Lubicom Marketing Consultants, co-sponsors of the show are predicting that this year’s planned show will be the biggest in many years.
