NEW YORK — The 59th Summer Fancy Food Show, which took place at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center (June 30 - July 2, 2013), featured a dramatic increase in new gourmet kosher certified items. In interviews with several kosher officials, including Yakov Yarmove, KosherToday leaned of many new kosher items at the show.
In baked goods, the brands with the best items were Sheila G's, Seth Greenberg's, Brownie Points (featured on the Food Network "The Best of" Show with Mark Silverstein), La Panzanella, Sweet Mavens Biscotti, Sara Snacker, Pearl River Pastry, and Dancing Deer Sweet and Savory. There were several new spreads and products made with chocolate as well as new chocolate products from Hammond’s, Chip N Dipped, Alcove Chocolate, Yolka, Marich, Taza, V Chocolates, and Seattle Chocolate. Other baking and confections included Amoretti Gourmet, Bequet Confections, and Cocomels Kosher.
In the condiment category were such companies as Rufus Teague bbq sauce, and Miller’s Mustard. In the healthy food section were such brands as Milas, Bare Fruit, Crunch ma me, Sante, GoGO Squeeze, and Savannah Bee Honey. Other companies of note with new and interesting kosher food products at the show were La Pain des Fleurs, Pretzel Perfection, Cosmos Creations, 479 Degrees Popcorn, Viva Italia, Saffron Road, Olia, Cheribundi, Purity Organic Kosher, Tea Forte (pending certification), City Bakery, Ayala Herbal Tea, Terra Delyssa, Saltworks, Graeters ice cream, Steve’s Ice Cream, Miss Jenny’s Pickles, and Safies.
