Fancy Food Show Highlights Growing Importance of Kosher

NEW YORK — If anyone had any doubts that kosher had made it into the mainstream, a walk through the NASFT Summer Fancy Food Show (Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, June 29-July 1) was the proof. Hundreds of kosher certified products were on display, including some of the flagships kosher brands as well as several kosher certification agencies. Also noticeable was a sizeable increase in the number of trade visitors that clearly represent the kosher market.

Many of the new upscale items on display were kosher certified as were several of the winners of the prestigious 2014 Sophie Awards. One estimate was that at least 400 exhibits had some form of kosher certification, a staggering number for one of the nation’s largest food shows.
