New York…The venue was the relatively new Fulton Restaurant at Pier 17 (South Sea Seaport). For famed Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the Fulton was his 40th restaurant including eateries in Las Vegas, London, Paris, Shanghai, and Tokyo, as well as New York’s Jean-Georges restaurant and Tangará Jean Georges in São Paulo’s luxurious Palácio Tangará, by Oetker Collection. The event on February 16th was a dinner tendered by the Herzog Family in honor of the Baroness Ariane Rothschild, marking the 30th anniversary of the relationship between the famed Rothschild family and its world-class Bordeaux kosher wines and the Herzog family, founders of Royal Wine Corp/KedemFor Chef Vongerichten, this was his first kosher dinner he had ever prepared at The Fulton, although he had an assist from Englewood’s Noam Sokolow, a restaurateur and private caterer, who worked collaboratively in order to ensure that Glatt Kosher standards were maintained. The five-course meal included some extraordinary duck, fish and beef dishes as well as salad and a multi-faceted dessert. Each course came with 4 glasses of some of the best Baron de Rothschild wines. The Fulton Restaurant kitchen was completely koshered with most of it covered in aluminum foil. In addition to the chef, greetings were extended by the Baroness, David Herzog and his son Mordechai and winemakers from France.
