NEW YORK — Fairway Market recently introduced its now signature kosher selection to Manhattan’s Kips Bay, Murray Hill, Gramercy, Union Square and many other midtown neighborhoods. The newest Fairway Market, which opened on December 21st has a full complement of glatt kosher meats, kosher bakery, and a large assortment of refrigerated, frozen and dry kosher goods, some under the brand name Murray’s, named for Howie Glickberg, Vice Chairman of Development and the grandson of the founder.
In addition, the store also offers prepared dishes by the well-known Abigael’s Restaurant, headed by Chef Jeffrey Nathan. The 40,119 square foot store, in the Kips Bay Shopping Center, is being staffed by many of the employees from Fairway Market's Red Hook location that was devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
The Kips Bay store is the fourth Manhattan Fairway Market and 12th store for the company. The bakery with its artisanal breads, pies and NYC-style bagels, all KOF-K certified kosher. The meat department is a full butcher shop where customized orders are its specialty and there is a large selection of pre-cut, kosher certified red meat, as well as fresh kosher poultry and 21-day, dry-aged prime steaks.
