Ever-Evolving Kosher Restaurants Scene Set to Evolve Again

NEW YORK - The recently held Kosher Food and Wine Experience held here earlier this month was focused on the incredible world of kosher wines, but it also featured sample dishes from some of New York’s finest kosher dining establishments. Dishing up a plate of delectable Short Rib Terraine at this year’s Kosher Food and Wine Experience, former Top Chef contestant, Chef Alex Reznik, gave New Yorkers a sneak-peek of what he has up his sleeve with his new restaurant, Bedford Kitchen. Following the success of Reznik’s Ditmas Kitchen & Cocktail in LA, Bedford Kitchen is set to “feature the finest local craft beers and most interesting and eclectic range of wines. The menu features a modern approach on a variety of traditionally inspired American plates with a flavor first mentality." Keeping with the theme of restaurants named after Brooklyn subway stations, Bedford Kitchen will open on Main St. in Flushing, NY in the coming weeks.

Over the past few years, New York has seen a move from the traditional steak house and dairy café to restaurants with more modern and innovative cuisine. Eateries such as Basil, Pardes and Mason & Mug continue to create fresh, unique dishes to entice the taste buds of the younger, kosher crowd, that have ensured their tables are booked hours in advance and a following of customers who often driving in from out of the area.
