Chicagoans Mourn Closing of a Kosher Destination

Chicago - Although this is not a city that is want for kosher destinations, the closing of Kosher Korner in the Garden Fresh Market left many sad patrons. In an announcement, the cRc which certified the store, thanked Mr. Adi Mor and his team for providing quality kosher food to the Northbrook and surrounding areas since 2004.  Mr. Mor told the Chicago Tribune that he blamed competition from a new Mariano's nearby and dwindling support from Jewish customers. "We couldn't compete with Mariano's," Mr. Mor said. "We didn't get the support from the Jewish community." His 40,000-square-foot store included a large kosher section, a kosher kitchen and separate deli counter.
