AKO Announces Major Changes in Kashrus Leadership in Aftermath of Covid-19 Losses

Chicago…In the aftermath of the loss of major kashrus figures to the Covid-10 Pandemic, several major appointments were announced, according to Rabbi Sholem Fishbane, executive director of the Association of Kashrus Organizations (AKO). Rabbi Chaim Fogelman has assumed the AKO Executive seat of his late illustrious father in law, Rabbi Don Yoel Levy. Rabbi Levy who was known as one of the world’s major authorities on kashrus passed away several weeks ago from the Coronavirus. The Badatz Igud Rabbonim (BIR - Manchester, England) announced that Rabbi Shulem Landau will be taking over the position of his esteemed father in law, Rabbi Osher Westheim, known the world over for his scholarly knowledge of all aspects of kashrus. AKO also announced that it has accepted the Vaad Kashrut Sheves Ahim in Panama as its newest member. The Vaad is headed by Rabbi Dovid Perets.
