Secaucus NJ…It was the 31st edition of Kosherfest and yet there was so much new at the annual kosher food trade show which took place last Tuesday and Wednesday, November 12-13 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center. More than 100 new exhibits showcased many new foods and wines from 28 nations throughout the world`. Equally as important for the industry were the 1000 first time registrants who represented retail groceries, wholesalers, distributors, wine and spirit dealers and many from food service. “Kosherfest has turned the corner,” said one long-time exhibitors, who reflected at the many new companies and start-ups that made this show so different for many. For show management (Diversified Business Communications and Lubicom), the 2019 edition set the stage for even more innovation in 2020. Speaking at the opening session of Kosherfest, Menachem Lubinsky, founder and co-producer said: “The kosher food industry is moving into a new era where the large companies are getting bigger and the small companies, even start-ups, are offering stiff competition for shelf space because of innovation, particularly in the growing number of kosher independent supermarkets.”
What was very much in evidence were the large number of representatives and booths from overseas, including such countries as the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Korea, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Italy, Australia, Romania, and Pakistan. The show also featured an unprecedented number of wine and spirits booths from around the globe.
