New York…by Eda Kram…When Isaac Lefkowitz left Kosherfest after exhibiting at the two-day show (November 9-10), he did not realize how much mazal he had. Although still trying to figure out his next steps after the show, he ended up in a traffic accident which would result in an introduction to a buyer for such box chains as Wal-Mart and Target, subsequently ending in a business deal. The story went viral.
The Lefkowitz company, Equine Coffee, introduced a new line of Coffee Pods at Kosherfest, which gave the owners an opportunity to tell the story about their remarkable journey that resulted in the creation of the brand. “The company name came from the idea that coffee should give you ‘horsepower’,” Isaac said. He credited an early passion for premium coffee taste and culture. Throughout his youth, Lefkowitz would frequent coffee shops and cafés in New York, Italy, Switzerland, and France, drinking coffee and talking with other coffee enthusiasts like himself. Simply enjoying coffee with others across many venues throughout the globe, Isaac came to understand the importance of coffee to everyday drinkers, coffee enthusiasts and coffee farmers. This caused him to develop the single cup coffee pods that are compatible with Nespresso brewers. His lines of coffee pods are produced with the finest ingredients, he says. The entire line of 9 roasters and premium blends in different strengths such as Gallop which is an Arabica Medium Roast, are all kosher certified under the Orthodox Union (OU).
