Monticello, NY – The well-known kosher brands are on the move at this time of the year. The brands are emblazoned on the many trucks trekking to New York’s Catskill Mountains where an estimated 300,000 Jews are beginning their two month vacations in housing developments, bungalow colonies and summer camps. Some estimates put the summer sales at nearly $50 million sold in local stores that include the likes of Shop-Rite and Wal-Mart and also a number of smaller kosher supermarkets. It’s barbecue time and the promotions for the meats and related products are in full gear. Kosher.com and Royal Wine have suggested some wonderful pairings of wine and recipes over the summer and many Jewish newspapers had special sections on the summer fare.
