It’s the holiday season so we’re minus some of our regular features, such as the New Product Showcase, but I am pleased to introduce a weekly “Sixth Sense” column to offer my perspective to some of the big stories in kosher. This week, I look at kosher as a good investment…On that note, we’re intrigued that now none other than PepsiCo is looking to buy a kosher company…“Small stops” we found are becoming larger stops…So far, so good is the word on sales of kosher food for the holidays…Next on PETA’s menu is kosher deer but again smoke but no fire…Some rabbis are working with Palestinians behind the scenes…Kosher continues to gain on college campuses with NYU coming in first…Hotels in Israel will be jam packed for Succos but shhh, you can still get a room…Israeli supermarkets were at each other’s throats on the eve of the holidays…Here and There has corrections on our stories on the OU and securing kosher food for airline travelers and the sale of the Manischewitz brand.
